Qualified applicants must submit their applications through her official website no later than Friday, October 25th, 2024 at 11:59 am HST Late submittlas and incomplete application packers will not be considered for an interview.

“There are students throughout our islands who have the strength of character and tenacity to be among our next generation of leaders in our U.S. Military,” Representative Tokuda, a member of the Armed Services Committee, said. “It is an honor for me to nominate our young leaders in Hawaiʻi to attend a military service academy to pursue their dreams of service while proudly representing our values and our home.”
To be considered for a nomination, candidates must reside in Hawaiʻi’s Second Congressional District, meet the basic eligibility requirements established by the academies, and submit a complete nomination application through her official website no later than Friday, October 25th, 2024 at 11:59 am HST Late submittals and incomplete application packets will not be considered for an interview.

A message from Senator Mazie Hirono:
"The congressional nomination process is very competitive and an honor that my Military Service Academy Selection Panel and I take very seriously. Please understand that if you do not receive a nomination from my office, it does not necessarily mean you do not meet academy standards. Rather, it likely reflects the high caliber of candidates who applied for a very limited number of nominations. My office will do our best to coordinate with other members of the Hawaii congressional delegation to ensure that we maximize opportunities for all Hawaii Military Service Academy candidates.
I commend you for your desire to serve our nation as an officer in the United States Armed Forces and wish you every success in your pursuit of an appointment to a service academy. If, for some reason, the information below does not answer all of your questions please see the frequently asked questions or contact my state office at 808-522-8970.
Due to the competitive and thorough selection process, students are encouraged to apply to their congressional sponsors and service academies in the spring of their junior year. Students in their senior year will also be considered.
In order to be considered for a congressional nomination from Senator Mazie K. Hirono, you must complete steps outlined on this link : Academy Nominations by 5:00 p.m. HST on October 15, 2024.
Military Recruiter/Individual Student Visits Information
INDIVIDUAL STUDENT MEETINGS
Individual student meetings with a military recruiter must be scheduled ahead of time with me and the student must have parent/guardian consent prior to the scheduled visit. If the student does not have a consent form on file in the CCRC, then he/she may not meet with military recruiters individually until consent is obtained. The student can obtain a consent form by visiting the CCRC. Individual student meetings are to be held during non-instructional time (i.e. recess or lunch). If a student/parent contacts the military recruiter directly to schedule a meeting on the WHIS campus, please contact me a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to schedule the meeting and confirm the day/time. Do NOT schedule a meeting day/time held on WHIS campus without contacting the CCRC FIRST.
UNANNOUNCED/UNSCHEDULED VISITS
Unannounced and unscheduled visits by military recruiters ARE NOT ALLOWED.
